i went to the student store to get a caffeine fix. while i was there, i encountered a political debate. this one was over schwarzenegger.
owner (of the store): yeah, i hear they're upping the cost of college at the CSU's..
me: as if students, the mentally disabled, and the elderly were deserving of our tax dollars.
everyone: *polite chuckle*
me: personally, i want the car tax back.
(at this point everyone looked at me as if i had said i supported hitler)
owner (now acting like a bitch): well, when you live paycheck to paycheck it's a bit of a blow when they triple the car tax.

i wanted to inform her that, if you live paycheck to paycheck, public transportation would be a cheaper and enviornmentally safer solution. to which, the nearly automated response would have been, "but LA transportation sucks." to which, i would have slapped her in the face and screamed "THAT'S BECAUSE YOU DON'T NEED PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN A STATE WHERE EVERYONE DRIVES CARS, BITCH!"

really, if we had the money from the car tax, 1. we wouldn't be in debt, we wouldn't HAVE to be cutting off people who can't support themselves. 2. there would be fewer SUVs on the road. 3. there would be so many people without cars, MAYBE THE GOVERNMENT WOULD FUCKING DO SOMETHING ABOUT PUBLIC TRANSIT. 4. people would stop bitching about having to fill up their tanks with gas that's already cheaper than it is everywhere else in the world.

and as to the fight i got in yesterday, i've decided america has legalized the black market of gasoline. why? 1. our gas is stolen. we stole it from the "democracies" we've so selflessly created around the world, conveniently in countries that have the highest gasoline exports. 2. we refuse to obey to united nation mandates that we regulate our levels of polution and gasoline usage.

so yay for people who live paycheck to paycheck and still insist on polluting the air with their worthless cars exempt from smog checks because they're so old and decrepid. god bless their souls and remove their reproductive organs.
